Fellow Marion County Democrats:
The Marion County Democratic Central Committee (MCDCC) will conduct its biennial Re-Organizational Meeting on Nov. 19, 2026.
This will be an IN-PERSON ONLY event held at the Marion County Democrats offices, 245 High Street NE, Salem, from 6:00pm until completed.
ALL registered Marion County Democrats are welcome to consider running for the below positions. These positions require a two (2) year commitment. You DO NOT have to be a current voting member of the party (Precinct Committee Person, “PCP”) to be an officer of the local party:
Five Officer Positions:
- Chair
- 1st Vice Chair
- 2nd Vice Chair
- Treasurer
- Secretary
If you are interested in running for any of the above positions, you are welcome to nominate yourself in advance, or at the time of the meeting. Those who nominate themselves within the below deadlines, will receive a list of all PCPs (voting members) names and contact information, will be included in the online Voter Pamphlet which will be sent to each voting member, and will have their names printed on the prepared ballots for the meeting. Should you decide to nominate yourself at the meeting, or to nominate another person to run for an Officer position, from the floor of the meeting, your name will be handwritten by the voting members and not pre-printed on the ballots. All votes will be held in confidence, but the ballots will be signed.
IMPORTANT DEADLINES:
*Nomination cut-off date for inclusion on prepared ballot: Nov 5
*Questionnaire cut-off date to be in Voter Pamphlet and receive list of PCPs: Nov 12
*Marion Democrats Reorganization Meeting Date: Nov 19

* State Central Committee (SCC) delegates (6) and alternate delegates (6) — total of 12 positions
* Congressional District 5 Committee delegates (3) and alternate delegates (3) — total of 6 positions
* Congressional District 6 Committee delegates (6) and alternate delegates (6) — total of 12 positions
The Chair and First Vice Chair of the Marion County Democrats will be automatic delegates to the SCC, and of CD5 or CD6 depending on which they reside.
