OWEC is offering a free 2-hour training on legislative advocacy. The training is geared toward nonprofits and will cover the types of advocacy nonprofits can participate in.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN…
1. What you can and can’t do electorally.
2. The difference between grassroots and direct lobbying.
3. How much lobbying you can do as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
4. The strategic benefits of adding a (c)(4) organization.
Nonprofits play a vital role in the development and implementation of public policy. We witness and respond to the impact of public policies on the people we serve. Few institutions are closer to the real problems of people than we are. In the current political environment the stakes are high for women and girls. Nonprofits shouldn’t stand on the sidelines of important conversations about public policy. Effective advocacy builds your capacity to achieve the greatest good for the greatest number of people and communities you serve. Join OWEC on Nov 30th for a 2-hour training so you can learn more about what your nonprofit can do.
