Walk-outs. Executive orders. Pandemics. Hoarding. Financial meltdown. Public shutdown.

Just when we need leadership, we’re all experiencing a major communication breakdown.

Ross Swartzendruber offers Oregon a different future with anti-corruption measures that strengthen democracy.

When faced with these same issues around the Great Depression, Oregonians came together and created anti-corruption legislation allowing initiatives, referendums, public co-ops and ranked choice voting. These efforts give more power to people, strengthen democracy and remain effective a century later. We will do it again.

We need democracy more than ever. Ross Swartzendruber supports the 2018 Democratic Party of Oregon Platform and these issues:

Anti-Corruption

Campaign Finance Reform – Pass SJR 18 in November 2020

Voter Rights – Ranked Choice or STAR Voting, redistricting, lower special district age limit

Ethics Reform – Close the revolving door between lobbyists and politicians

Green New Deal – German Style

Get paid to produce power

Rural municipal energy co-ops

Transportation infrastructure electrification

Digital Bill of Rights

Data privacy and surveillance protections

Humane technology

Algorithmic governance feedback
